“If you hang out with chickens, you're going to cluck and if you hang out with eagles, you're going to fly.” ― Steve Maraboli
In your quest for success, three things are necessary: the company you keep, the books you read and the thought in your heart. The people you walk with will determine what direction you will take as they will influence your way of life positively or negatively; the books you read will change your sight of things and if you don’t read at all, you are dangerous person even to yourself as you will not learn through the experience of others and of how they made their own success; the thought you allow to resonate most and more often will become a habit and eventually an attitude which defines who you are. Today, take decision on these three things and you will change your life.
Zhou Qunfei was born in 1970 to an impoverished family in Xiangxiang, Hunan Province of China. She is the youngest of three children and tragedy struck when she lost her mother at age 5. Her father was a craftsman who lost his finger in a factory accident and was also partially blinded before Zhou was born. Zhou dropped out of secondary school at age 16 because the family meagre income could not support her education being the only child of the three that ever attended secondary school and followed her uncle to Shenzhen in Guangdong province where she took a part-time courses at Shenzhen University while working.
In 1993, at age 22, Zhou started her own business at the suggestion and persuasion of her Cousin with a seed capital of nearly USD3,000 which she saved while working for a factory producing watch parts. Zhou worked very hard over the years transforming the business she started with her family circle members in a three bedroom apartment into a multibillion company that started producing touch screen lens in 2003 and today Lens Technology supplies lens to global mobile phone makers such as Apple, Samsung, Huawai and many others. The USD3,000 seed in 1993 has been transformed into multibillion dollars corporation and Zhou Qunfei as at June 2016 was reported to be worth USD10B and the world’s richest self-made woman.
Zhou Qunfei might not have been so successful in fashion business that was her choice vocation but the encouragement of her cousin to start up a watch glass business after the factory she worked for was closed is changing the world. You need to surround yourself with positive people who will always encourage you to climb success latter and motivate you to dare the impossible.
