Zhou Qunfei was born in 1970 to an impoverished family in Xiangxiang, Hunan Province of China. She is the youngest of three children and tragedy struck when she lost her mother at age 5. Her father was a craftsman who lost his finger in a factory accident and was also partially blinded before Zhou was born. Zhou worked very hard over the years transforming the business she started with her family circle members in a three bedroom apartment into a multibillion company that started producing touch screen lens in 2003 and today Lens Technology supplies lens to global mobile phone makers such as Apple, Samsung, Huawai and many others. The USD3,000 seed in 1993 has been transformed into multibillion dollars corporation and Zhou Qunfei as at June 2016 was reported to be worth USD10B and the world’s richest self-made woman.

Zhou Qunfei might not have been so successful in fashion business that was her choice vocation but the encouragement of her cousin to start up a watch glass business after the factory she worked for was closed is changing the world.
