It is interesting how divinity designed the circle of life. From gestation until birth is a quiet moment of life. From birth to age 30 is the learning season while age 30 to 45 is the survival and acquisition period. The period 45 to age 65 is the accumulation cum distribution times of life, it is also the legacy-building-blocks of life. Beyond age 65 until death is another quiet period of life. Many people that want to remain active and reactive in this latter age end up weakening or destroying their legacy-building-blocks. Look at the men of age of our society in active politics, what do you say of them? If President Buhari has not returned to power in 2015, we all would said, 'if Buhari was given a chance, he would have changed a dollar to a naira' but what do we say today?
What season are you? Many of us allow these seasons overlap then we start living the past in the future. The world is on a fast transition from what is now the digital to the nano world while many in the under developed and developing world are still trying to understand the analogue season of life. This is 3 generations ago of world order. The digital world is ushering the artificial intelligence period which will transit into the nano technology season of the planet where things are done at the atomic level. This sounds like a prognosis but it is happening already. There are many of us who are careless about the stages of life but either we call it theoretical or real, there is the 'age to status' that should happen to man. I sat and saw the many life hours I have wasted, the many opportunities that have been missed, the element of the periodic table that would have been synthesized, the cure to diabetes and cancer that would have been found, the great energy that have been exerted on irrelevant things and the space of my brain that was dedicated to 'junk: than producing products and services that will make the world a better place. What a waste? How old was Bill Gates when he created Microsoft? How old was Yakubu Gowon when he became the Head of State of Nigeria? What age was Fola Adeola when he founded GTBank? Have you heard Jason Njoku of iRoko tv talked about starting off late? Do you think your energy now is commensurate to your achievement? Be challenged today to think of the stage and time of your life. What have you been able to start? How many lives have you touched? Have you read in your Bible that there is time for everything under the sun? Many young people think that life is a plug and play device and that you can always make things happen at any time but it is better to be Mark Zuckerberg who created Facebook at 19 (3months shy of age 20) than Col Sanders that started KFC at 65. Run when you can because if you fall, you can still grow your bones. The reason why there is high level of corruption and social vices everywhere in our society today is because of season overlap. A man of 50 thinking of retiring from active service without a home is in a hurry to do that and will do everything including doctoring accounts to achieving it. This man should be living in the distribution age and not acquisition. He is living his past today. This is atypical of the African society. It is time to make a change! This challenge is for you and I to take a seat and assess the stage we are and how we can make changes to our 'age to status'. Don't live a Plug n Play Lifestyle, make hay while the sun shines. In case you think you are an outlier of the match, no worries, dust your shoes and begin a planned run to making a catch-up. You can do it, you will do it!
